Dear Editor: I was pleased to learn recently
that two men who are leaders of a mosque in Albany, N.Y. were arrested for
allegedly helping a man they thought was a terrorist purchase a
shoulder-fired missile. I am please
that we have a government that is tough of terrorism. I hope that if these men are found guilty
that they will be punished severely and will be deported to the country from
which they came. I realize that all
Moslems are not terrorists, but the terrorists that we are facing today are
all Moslems. I would hope that the
peace loving Moslems would speak out and denounce those among them who
promote terror. We are a nation that
has openly welcomed those from |
other lands who are seeking freedom to live in
peace. We appreciate our diversity
and want to maintain it and those who practice the Moslem faith should be
free to do so without being persecuted, but it will mean that that their leaders
must take a strong stand against terrorism.
I am still waiting to hear a leader of a mosque denounce the attack on
the 9/11/01. I believe that this
would help to overcome any prejudice or possible persecution of Moslem people
in this country. We must all do our
part to live together in peace. Respectfully
