Only Prayer Will Win This War!

Dear Editor:

It has been more than six months since the attack on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.  We have experienced significant loss of life and property as a result of these terrorist attacks.  Many are saying that this is not a religious war, but they overlook the fact that these Moslem extremists believe that they are serving Allah by taking the lives of those whom they consider to be infidels.  They are anti-Semitic and anti-American and will not be satisfied until they have imposed their form of religion on the entire world and especially here in the West.  We must be vigilant and not become complacent.  This is a war like none other we have faced in the past.  It is not going to be won on the battlefield but in the prayer closet.  We must pray for our President and all those who are working with him.  We must get serious about prayer and not pray as a formality, but as a reality.  God does answer the prayers of those who have put their trust in Him.  We  must  confess our sins to Him and trust Him for forgiveness based on the finished work of His Son on the

cross of Calvary.  He says in Ps. 66:18 “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.”    We must put our individual political agendas aside and work together to preserve our freedom.  We must be willing to make whatever sacrifices are required to keep our nation safe from attack.  This war will not be over soon.  The enemy is able to make himself invisible and so we must take steps to bring him out into the open.  We must deal severely with those who promote terror and send a clear message to anyone who is planning to threaten our freedom.  We are a nation, which believes in the free exercise of religion, and we must not compromise our beliefs as we battle those who are using religion to further their political agenda.  All those who support the freedoms, which we enjoy in America must work together and encourage one another.  May God be merciful to us at home and on the battlefields in other lands!

              Sincerely,
